Dr. Guy May, one of five sons, was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He grew up around veterinary medicine, working at his father's veterinary practice at a very young age.
He majored in English for his undergraduate studies at Auburn University, and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Following graduation, Dr. May returned to Tuscaloosa to join his father and brother in practice.
Dr. May enjoys the diversity of veterinary medicine, allowing him to participate in many areas of practice including dermatology, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, surgery, dentistry and pharmacology.
The highlight of his career, so far, is that he met his wife, Beverly, through the practice. They are the proud parents of two children, Will and Meg. Currently they have two dogs, Jenny and Markie, and and a cat named Bruce. Dr. May is an avid runner, having completed many marathons, including the Boston Marathon and has participated in several Hood to Coast Relays in Oregon. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, working in the yard, playing tennis, reading and trail running.
He and his family are active members of the First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa and Dr. May currently serves as a member of the Tuscaloosa City School Board and the Metro Animal Shelter Advisory Committee.
